I gained hands on experience in traditional sword making at Phoenix Forge in Carmarthenshire.
Making Process
Shaping the hilt.
Elongating the blade to a point.
Sanding the edge, central ridge and fuller of the blade.
Heat treating the blade.
Creating the cross guard.
Adding the cross guard and fixing the pommel in place.
Carving, sanding and fixing the wooden handle.
Final result.
